The Vice Presidents Club ‘dig for cricket!’
Over the clast few weekends, members of the HCC VPC have being putting in some hours tidying and preparing the SW corner into a quiet garden area away from the pavilion to enjoy cricket in the peace!
The HCC VPC decided to take on this project with the approval of the clubs committee to ensure the site where our former club house stood (1953 – 2018) would at least hold few memories for those who have spent so many happy hours there over the last sixty plus years.
The project included levelling the ground (kindly dealt with by our Chairman Simon Radbourne) then scrapping, digging up loads of green plastic, where on earth that came from then planting seven silver birch (or are they ash?) then finishing off a triangle facing toward the square and new pavilion a base for two bench seats kindly donated by our friends at Branson’s Leisure.
