HCC Fantasy 'Champions League' - Week 3 Results & Week 4 Fixtures

Jack Sykes28 Jun - 09:00

Plenty to play for a we head into the final stages of phase 1!

With the main league fast approaching the halfway stage there is only a single point separating the top two teams with third less than 50 points adrift!

Currently sitting at the top is Barry with an ironic name of 'Top 4 a Split Second'. Will he be able to extend his lead this week or will the chasing pack come after him! Sam sits in second with consistent scorer Zabi sitting in 3rd.

It's still anyone's game at the moment with those all important triple captain and wild cards still available. You could easily see anyone within the top 10 make a charge... it only takes one genius transfer to score yourself some big points - get thinking, is it time to take that risk?

Top 5 Managers and points:
Barry - 4271
Sam - 4270
Zabi - 4025
Alfie - 3955
Joe - 3929

Week 4 Fixtures:

Group 1
Alfie (4) vs Andy (2)
Harris (5) vs Freddy (6)
Tracy (7) - No Fixture

Alfie will be looking to catch up with group leader Tracy as she sits out this week. Harris and Freddy will also be wanting to make their mark on the top spot with the winner of this tie giving themselves a great chance of qualification for phase 2!

Group 2
Eliot (4) vs Rob (4)
Rizwan (7) vs Matthew (4)
George (5)

With Rizwan playing his final group game, he'll all but secure his place in phase 2 with a victory. The other contenders are Eliot and Rob who face off against each other this week. George will be hoping for a Matthew win to give himself an outside chance of qualification.

Group 3
Asad (2) vs Jack F (6)
Oscar (5) vs Tyler (4)
Musharaf (6)

With Asad firmly propping up the bottom of group 3, Jack will be confident of a win this week, currently unbeaten from his two matches. The race for 2nd place is anyone's guess with Oscar, Tyler and Musharaf still in the hunt. Musharaf will be gutted to be sitting out this week after scoring a big win last weekend.

Group 4
Dan (4) vs Ronnie (4)
Dave (3) vs Naseer (6)
Zabi (7) - No Fixture

Naseer (unbeaten in his two matches) will be looking to pile more misery onto Dave (defeated in all three matches) this weekend and gain an advantage over Zabi. Whoever is the victor out of Dan and Ronnie will certainly put a cat amongst the pigeon and keep group 4 going down to the wire!

Group 5
Ally (4) vs Amir (4)
Zach (7) vs Lee (2)
Barry (7)

Following his 2 point loss last weekend to Ally, Barry is going to be sitting out this week having to watch Zach play his final game. Zach should be feeling confident playing against bottom of the group Lee, but who knows what could happen in this game. Barry does have a superior points difference over Zach, so it could all come down to the final matches to decide the winner of group 5! A shock win for Lee would certainly make group 5 interesting, where we would have 3 teams sitting on 7 points heading into the final weekend!

Group 6
Jez (2) vs Adam (4)
Charlie (7) vs Joe (6)
Sam (5) - No Fixture

Top of the table clash between Charlie and Joe, however the former has played a game extra! Charlie would all but guarantee a qualification spot with a win. Technically their not out of the race, but Jez and Adam could give themselves an outside chance of making it through to the next stage... If I were a bookie, the odds of qualifying would be at least 50/1!

Group 7
Gull (2) vs Lloyd (2)
Mark (7) vs Abdul (4)
Jack (9) - No Fixture

Group leader Jack will be sitting anxiously awaiting the result of Mark vs Abdul... A win for Abdul - qualification secured in first or second. A win for Mark, and he'll have to get thinking carefully for his final group game - Knowing that last game is against Lloyd though, he can feel pretty confident.
Gull and Lloyd seem to have forgotten that Fantasy cricket is taking place. Both managers have scored 300 or less points each week. In footballing terms, this would be deemed as one of those boring 0-0 draw games that would feature last on Match of the Day!
