Jack Sykes7 Apr - 16:00

History of Harlow CC appearing at the Ambassador Cruise Line Ground, Chelmsford!

After a very successful exhibition at Harlow Museum during the last summer celebrating Harlow CC 250th anniversary, the Essex County Cricket Club Museum have borrowed the display to show and will be available to view throughout April.

This will then followed by a unique exhibition of Doug Insole and Travor Bailey, two outstanding heroes of the county club.

Harlow CC are in good company as its display replaces that of another Essex hero and former England captain, Nassar Hassan.

The Harlow club have enjoyed a good relationship with Essex CCC for over 150 years. In 1866, 22 of Harlow beat Essex by six wickets.
In the early 1950’s Essex 2nd XI played many county games at Marigolds as a ‘home ground’.

Harlow hosted three benefit games between 1950 and 1953 then in 1977 entertained the Keith Boyce Benefit XI featuring many famous players, Wayne Daniels in particular.
