Shenfield proved to be just too strong for Harlow's U 16 side today in the Trevor Bailey Match Play Final.
After winning the toss Harlow made a very good start reducing the opposition to 63-3 at the half way stage of their innings but Shenfield came back strongly to post 210-9.
In reply Harlow lost early wickets and never recovered as Shenfield's bowling was just good for us on the day coupled with the pressure of chasing. Our total of 82 all out was not reflective of the batting our side has shown all summer.
This was the first time in Harlow history that our side has reached the final so the club is extremely proud of all those who played during the tournament.
A huge thank you to CJ's Fish & Chips and Cricket Giants who sponsored the new cup final kit and caps respectively. CJ's are based in Wych Elm whilst Cricket Giants offer a range of kit and bats (available through Mark Quant). Let's support those who support us as a club.
