Appointment of Ben Yeats as 1st XI Captain
It is with great pleasure that the club announces the return of Ben Yeats as 1st XI Captain for the 2026 season. Ben rejoins Harlow Cricket Club following a period of three years with Fives and Heronians, during which he gained valuable experience in both Premier and 1st Division cricket within the Essex League.
Playing alongside and against high-calibre opponents, including individuals associated with Essex CCC, he further developed his game. Ben amassed 1,556 runs from 51 innings, maintaining an average of 31.12, and registered six half-centuries and three centuries, with a highest score of 140.
Having progressed through the club’s ranks from the 5th XI to the 1st XI, Ben is highly regarded at Harlow CC. His commitment to fostering excellence in himself and others, combined with his deep connection to the club, renders him an exemplary leader as the team aspires to promotion to Division 2.
2nd XI Captain: Amir Farooq
Amir Farooq continues in his role as 2nd XI Captain for the forthcoming season. Under his leadership, the team has consistently performed commendably, securing stable mid-table positions and maintaining the potential for promotion each year.
Amir’s strategic approach and emphasis on collective effort ensure that the 2nd XI remains competitive in all fixtures.
3rd XI Captain: Tyler Dobson
Tyler Dobson assumes the responsibility of 3rd XI Captain. Renowned for his composed and patient leadership style, Tyler is receptive to collaborative input to achieve the best outcomes for the team.
He has successfully balanced his captaincy duties with individual performance, contributing numerous wickets. The squad enjoys playing under his guidance. Following a narrow avoidance of relegation last season, the team is optimistic for a more stable league position in 2026.
4th XI Captain: Jon Allen
Jon Allen is appointed as 4th XI Captain for the 2026 season, having shared the role previously with Rob Coldwell. This arrangement afforded younger players valuable opportunities to develop without undue pressure.
Despite relegation during the 2025 campaign, the club views this outcome constructively, with every match to be played as overs cricket, thereby fostering further growth. The experience gained may well facilitate a swift return to a higher division

5th XI Captain: Adam Dack
The 5th XI, often the starting point for Harlow CC’s emerging talent, will be captained by Adam Dack. Adam has established an engaging and positive environment within the team, maintaining a determination to achieve success and encouraging each individual to perform to the best of their abilities.
The integration of new players required an adjustment period, but cohesion was achieved towards the 2025 season’s end. The entry of new teams into the Herts and Essex Border League promises varied opposition and new venues for the club.
