The first thing to say about club records is they primarily represent the Play Cricket era (covers the last 20 years or so) plus the incomplete score book records going back to the 1950’s. There is no doubt, for example, that Simon Baulcomb has scored in excess of 20,000 runs for the club much of which isn’t covered by existing records. Nevertheless, with each passing year the records become increasingly worthwhile.

Since 2022 no individual batsman has struck an individual innings of 150 plus to break into the highest recorded although Gull Hassan’s superb attacking 139 at Marigolds against Newham this season makes it into the First XI records as the tenth highest innings at that level for the club.

In terms of overall run scoring Jack Sykes now has Ahmed Khawaja’s all time record in sight and one more season of destroying HEBL bowling should be sufficient for Jack to take top spot. Baulks moves up to third whilst Sunni Ali, Dip Basnet and Ben Yeats all move up the all time list within the top 10 at all levels for the club.

Sunni features in the all time top 10 for both batting and bowling marking him out as one of the outstanding all rounders to have represented the club.

Jack also holds the record for both the highest ever recorded innings at the club (239*) as well as the highest partnership (326). Both will take some beating and likely to stand for many a year.

Bens’s 2026 tally of 807 league runs was the 11th highest by a Harlow batsmen in history and when his cup run scoring is added (not included in club records) he again broke the magical 1000 runs in a season barrier at an average well in excess of 50.

Work is underway to update the bowling and fielding records and I suspect Joe Riddell may be mentioned in despatches once or twice with Amir, Sunni and Tyler also consistently moving their wicket taking hauls in an upward direction.
