Although more recently remembered as the current and long term
President of our near neighbours Harlow Town CC (formally Stort
CC) Martin started his lengthy cricket career here, at Marigolds from
a young age and I recall when first joining Harlow CC In 1965, he was
a regular first team player.

The attached picture was taken of Martin (front left) and the 1st XI in 1974.

Born close by in (Old) Harlow, he grew up playing for us for many
years until he decided to switch his allegiance to then known Stort
CC and had many successful seasons.

Although his loyalties were very much with them, he was still a
regular visitor to Marigolds during the cricket seasons, quietly
wonder around the outfield. He was always well welcomed and I
am sure still had an affection for Marigolds where he spent many
happy summers with us.

He will be sadly missed and always remembered with great affection
here at Harlow Cricket Club.
