Excellent team effort in dominant win

Harlow CC make it four wins in a row with dominant 101-run victory

Harlow CC continued their excellent run of form with a convincing 101-run victory over Sawbridgeworth CC in the Herts and Essex Border League Division 4, making it four wins on the bounce.

After winning the toss and being asked to bat first, Harlow posted an imposing 223-7 from their 40 overs, setting Sawbridgeworth a challenging target.

The innings was built around a superb knock by J Sykes, who finished unbeaten on 67 from 58 balls, smashing 11 boundaries to provide the late acceleration. Contributions also came from M Scholtz (33), R Philip (20) and R Coldwell (36) as Harlow put together a strong team total.

In reply, Sawbridgeworth struggled to build momentum against a disciplined Harlow attack and were bowled out for 122 in 22 overs.

The wickets were shared around, with A Dack (3-11) and J Sykes (2-11) leading the way, while M Hussain (2-24) and A Hoskins (2-26) also made key breakthroughs. R Davies added another wicket as Harlow’s bowlers kept the pressure on throughout the innings.

The fielding effort was another highlight, with Harlow taking regular wickets and preventing any meaningful partnership from developing.

A complete team performance — strong batting, relentless bowling and sharp fielding — secured a 101-run win and extends Harlow CC’s unbeaten streak to four consecutive victories.
