It was a thrilling and high-scoring encounter in the Herts and Essex Border League Division 4 yesterday, as Harlow CC and Hoddesdon CC went head-to-head in a tightly contested match.

Harlow CC won the toss and elected to bat, setting a formidable target of 296/6 from their 40 overs.

The innings was headlined by a spectacular performance from Muquit Shaikh, who achieved a magnificent milestone by scoring his maiden century for Harlow Cricket Club, finishing with 116 runs off 86 balls.

He was well-supported by Umair Khan, who added a quick-fire 65, and Adam Dack, who contributed a solid 52.

In response, Hoddesdon CC chased down the total in a tense finish, reaching 298/6 with just five balls to spare to win by 4 wickets.

Despite the narrow defeat, it was a fantastic day for the club, with special congratulations in order for Muquit Shaikh on his brilliant maiden century.
