Groundhog day for 1st XI

Loughton 1st XI 164-6 v Harlow CC 1st XI 160 all out.
It was a case of groundhog day for Harlow as yet again a batting failure cost them. Having won the toss Loughton put Harlow into bat, this soon proved fruitful. Harlow where soon three wickets down for just 5 runs and it soon became four down for just 14 runs. Harlow then rallied and Soulat Ali(44) and Nicky Baxter(41) moved the score onto 97 before Ali wicket fell, this was followed shortly after by the wicket of Baxter and Harlow were now on 109-6. Mitchell Howarde and Andre Riddell (19 & 17) then moved the score onto 154-8. The last two wickets falling with just another six more runs on the board to finish all out for 160.
In reply Harlow started of brightly and had Loughton at 21-3, but any hopes of a win where ended by an excellent batting display from Vibhor Yadav who put on 106 not out in 85 balls to see Loughton to victory. Several more wickets fell for Loughton who finished on 164-6. Nicky Baxter taking 2-28, Callum Sykes 1-27, Howarde 1-50 Ross Vasani 1-40 and Jake Messenger 1-1 from 2 overs.

Harlow 2nd XI also failed batting, having lost the toss against Billericay 2nd XI they were put into bat and were bowled out for just 104 runs. Only score of note was John Perry with 21, Max Baulcomb 19, Waheed Azam 18 and Ben Yeats 14. In reply Billericay did not hang around and scored required runs in 17.1 overs to finish on 108-2.
Harlow 3rd and 4th XI both also lost. 3rd XI batting 2nd where bowled out for 184 chasing a score of 199 set by their opponents Hornchurch.
4th XI also lost to Hornchurch. Put into bat they were bowled out for 97 runs only, top scorer was Mustafa Shah with 22 runs and Harder Rasool with 20. Hornchurch scored 98-4 in reply, two wickets for Thomas Smith-Hughes who finished with figures of 2-21.
Next week 1st XI are at Home to Old Southendians and Southchurch with 4th XI also at home to Ilford 3rd XI. 2nd and 3rd XI have Loughton 2nd XI and Woodford Wells 3rd XI away respectively. Hopefully some better results to come.
1st XI currently sit 7th in the table with 41 points in a tight league.
