Matt Hart takes 4-5 and batters all chip in for big win

Harlow's U21 side proved too strong for a mixed side from near neighbours Sawbridgeworth CC on Sunday afternoon.

Batting first Harlow's side maintained a high run rate with virtually every batsman making a worthwhile contribution without any single player going on to make a big score. Joe Radford and Nathan McCarthy got the innings off to the perfect start both scoring fluently and their wickets failed to stem the flow off the game. Ronnie Fuller, batting for the first time this season, shook off some winter rust and scored useful runs whilst Max Baulcomb probably looked the most accomplished, striking a number of boundaries in his quick-fire innings. Late over hitting from Ben Yeats, Matt Fisk, Oliver Allen and Ben Seary all added usefully to a total of 235-6 in 40 overs.

Baulcomb 43, Yeats 31, Fuller 30, McCarthy 27, Radford 26, Fisk 21*, Seary 16* and Allen 9

Any possibility of the visitors staging a fight back with the bat evaporated in 6 hostile overs with the new ball from Matt Hart. Along with opening partner, Myles Baldock, the Harlow pair reduced the opposition to 27-6. Spinner Matt Fisk and seamer Ben Seary polished off the tail but not before an enterprising 38 from Sawbo number 10 Jones who struck some lusty blows despite the apparently hopeless match situation.

Hart 4-5 (6 overs), Fisk 3-29 (6.1 overs), Baldock 2-24 (5 overs), Seary 1-21 (4 overs) and Allen 0-16 (2 overs)
