Mixed weekend of results

Wickford CC 1st XI 279-6 50 overs beat Harlow CC 1st XI 144 All Out
Harlow batting woes continued yet again at Wickford. After winning the toss Harlow elected to field. Harlow bowling got off to a steady start with Nicky Baxter taking first wicket of the Wickford opener with 36 runs scored. Three more wickets fell two for Callum Sykes and one for Ross Vasani to leave Wickford on 102-4. After this wickets were hard to come by on a fast dry outfield with the next falling with the score at 205. This continued with Wickford piling on the runs and one more was to fall with the score at 256-6. After 50 allocated overs Wickford ended their innings on 279, with Dean Etchells of Wickford ending on 108 not out. It could have been different if when caught whilst in his 40,s the decision was given as he later admitted he was out but never walked the umpires failing to see he had hit the ball.
In reply chasing a big score Harlow got off to a good start moving on to 64 before Luke Monger was run out for 36. Almost immediately after Surath Bastola was also out for 19 with no more runs added and a third wicket was to fall as the score changed to 64-3 as Anthony Webb was out for 0. More wickets fell and Harlow slumped to 78-7 losing 7 wickets for just 14 runs. Harlow then dug in a little and scored moved to 110-8 Callum Sykes out for 7 and captain Rehman Ahmed still standing 27 not out as he watched his side collapsing around him having come in at number 3. Brief revival again as Ross Vasani came in and he finished 15 not out with Captain Ahmed finally falling with a top score of 38. Harlow finally all out for 144 runs.

Harlow 2nd XI 233-6 beat Hutton 2nd XI 229-8 in their game. Harlow put into bat were soon a wicket down but that was the only time they were to struggle. Atif Mustehsan scored 60, Ryan Jessey 58, Joe Riddell 31 and Max Baulcomb 21 along with other three batsman scoring double figures Harlow put on 233-6 from their 45 overs and all this with having to face former Essex bowler Ian Pont. In reply Harlow won a close game as Hutton scored 229 off 45 overs falling 5 short of a win. Wickets were shared like the batting with Joe Riddell 2-32,who took the wicket of Pont, Danny Stone 2-29 and Max Baulcomb 2-26 with a wicket for Thomas Smith-Hughes on his two,s debut 1-44, the other to fall was a runout. All in all a good result.

Harlow 3rd XI 171 all out lost Wanstead and Snarebrook 3rd XI 173-5. Top scorer was Amir Farooq with 43.

Harlow 4th XI 244-7 beat Southend-on-Sea and EMT CC 3rd XI 243-4. Batting first Southend scored 243 from their 45 overs for lose off 4 wickets. Ali Nasik taking 3-45. Replying Harlow scored 244-7 winning with 11 balls to spare. Top scorer was Harry Burton who finished on 91 not out, running out of time to get a deserved century. Jake Hikmatshah also finished unbeaten on 46, with three other batsman scores in 20 plus runs for a good win.

Harlow 5th XI 148-7 lost South Loughton 273-4, a team made up of a mixture of young colts and older players put up a good effort against South Loughton. Opening pair for South scoring 125 and 82 respectively won the game for them with young bowler Myles Baldock finally getting opener out. Young colt Matthew Hart finished on 45 not out to be Harlow top scorer in reply.

Next up at home are 1st XI facing Hordon on the Hill and 4th XI playing Orsett and Thurrock 3rd XI. 2nd XI are away to Old Southendians & Southchurch 2nd XI whilst 3rd XI play Chelmsford 3rd XI away.
