One win two draws one defeat

Harlow CC 1st XI 223/8 Drew with Gidea Park & Romford 1st XI 218/9

In a crucial bottom of the table clash Harlow could only draw with Gidea Park and Romford but did managed to close the gap on them by gaining five extra bonus points. Gidea Park having won the toss elected to put Harlow into bat knowing what would be required from themselves when batting second in this timed game. There was any early loss of wickets when Hafiz Yawar Afzal went for just 5 runs. Harlow batsman then settled with most making double figures but with nobody dominating the batting and moving beyond a 50. Alan Jones top scored with 46, Ahmed Khawaja 42, Luke Heskett 36 not out and captain Rehman Ahmed with 23 where top scorers. Harlow eventually finished from their 50 overs 223-8 enough to secure maximum batting points. In reply Harlow got off to a good start knowing they had to bowl out Gidea Park to pick up maximum points to go above them. They had the opener out for 1 and soon took a 2nd wicket with score 28-2. The game then settled into a tense affair with neither side wanting a defeat. Much like Harlow no Gidea Park batsman could really get going but at the same time Harlow never taking wickets quickly enough. Several wickets then fell and Harlow had Gidea park on 186-8 and possibility of a win looked possible, but Gidea park tailenders dug in and eventually finished on 218-9. Harlow one wicket short of a win and Gidea Park 6 runs short of a win. The result dropped Harlow to the bottom of the table. Next up for Harlow are matches against 2nd and 3rd in the league followed by a final match against South Woodford.

Wickford 2nd XI 202 all out beat Harlow 2nd XI 163 all out

Wickford where put into bat and lost a wicket in first over to bowling of Callum Sykes. Harlow continued throughout the inning taken wickets on a regular basics eventually bowling Wickford out for 202. Callum Sykes finishing with figures of 42-3, Lewis Aldred 27-2 Danny Stone 28-2 pick of the bowling.
Batting Harlow got off to a steady start with Conor Ramsey falling for 34 with score at 39-1 Harlow scored runs steadily but also lost wickets at at a steady rate with Simon Baulcomb top scoring with 36. The last four Harlow wickets fell for just 17 runs and they where bowled out for 163. The defeat leaves them just seven points off of the relegation spot, with no wins in last seven matches.

Harlow 3rd XI 334-9 drawn with Chelmsford 3rd XI 157-9

Safely in mid-table the third team batting first had a field day batting putting on 334-9 in their 50 overs. Top scorer was M Naeem with 80 not out supported by A Baig 55, George Messenger 55, Faisal Javed 46 and Johnny Allen 44. By batting through their full allocated overs possible cost a win. In reply Chelmsford finished on 157-9 with Harlow failing to Bowl them out.

Ilford 3rd XI 165 all out lost to Harlow 4th XI 166-9

Harlow fielding first new if they wanted to be in with a chance of promotion needed to win. They set about the task in hand took wickets required and kept the score low bowling out Ilford for 165. Pick of the bowlers was Liam Coldwell with figures of 31-3, Ilhan Mustafa taking 22-2, the rest spread throughout the team. Batting Harlow got off to a good start with Arshad Muhammed scoring 53 and Ken Aldred 29. They the lost wickets with three players failing to score. Captain Rob Coldwell steadied the match with 27 and Liam Coldwell with 22. Harlow finally got the runs required with one wicket with a score of 166-9. The win keeps them on track for a possible promotion.

Other News

Harlow 5th XI playing in Division 6 of HECL have won promotion and require one more win to secure the title.
