Captains Report

Rob Coldwell
4th XI
We started off the season with three wins from three. We appeared to have found our level after four successive league champions seasons. We struggled to bowl out sides and having lost Tyler Dobson to the 3rd XI, and Arshad Muhammed to a shoulder injury we missed a real strike bowler. But the emergence of Thomas Smith-Hughes (18 wkts), Jake Hikmatshah (19 wkts) bowling and of Ilhan Mustafa (18 wkts) and along with Max Baulcomb and Liam Coldwell wickets where shared around. We had a run mid-season not winning in five but got some form back, but weather intervened in two matches when we was in a winning position.
Summarising we lost key players from previous seasons who were consistent performers the year before which may or may not have affected results but we finished a creditable third the equal lowest place the 4th XI has finished under my captaincy. Overall another good season with out being spectacular. In a very difficult season for the club all around I even played in 2nd XI as did 5 overs from 4th XI.
Big thanks to Dave Whellams as always and to Rob Smith-Hughes for hunting down lost balls and the 4th XI team which as always played for each other and tried hard to get results and supported all I did.
