Harlow relegation fears were not eased after this defeat to Old South, partly due to the amount of extras costing them dearly that they conceded. After winning the toss Harlow elected to bat. They soon lost Mitchell Howarde for just 2 off the bowling of former player Andrew McGarry, who also took fellow opener Luke Monger for 20, case off déjà vu as McGarry caused problems in the reverse fixture. Captain Rehman Ahmed went for 21, but only Callum Sykes manged to put a score on the board of any note scoring 53. Old Souths kept the bowling tight and finally bowled out Harlow for 185 in 45.2 overs. Being bowled out with over 4 overs left contributed to this defeat, meaning they fell short of runs when 200 plus was possible. In reply Harlow took an early wicket bowled by Callum Sykes who went onto to finish with figures of 3-22. Old souths also struggled with the bat, but what ultimately let Harlow down and cost them victory was the 32 extras, 16 more than Old Souths. Old Souths reached their target of 186 in 48 overs but if the bowling had been tighter it could have been so different. Harlow have now conceded 150 extras in the last four matches, and this could prove to be the Ultimate downfall. With four matches left and two against clubs just above them Harlow need possibly three wins to avoid relegation to the bottom division. Next up is Wickford then crucial games against Hordon on the Hill and what could be a huge match against local rivals Harlow Town who are also not yet safe of relegation.
Harlow CC 2nd XI 187-9 beat Loughton 2nd XI 186 a.o
Harlow 2nd XI eased their relegation fears with a win over Loughton. Having won the toss Harlow elected to field. Harlow took three early wickets all from the bowling of Thomas Smith-Hughes who finished with figures of 3-30. He then took a catch off the bowling of captain Lewis Aldred. Only one Loughton batsman really troubled Harlow as they bowled them out for 186 in 41 overs. There was also three wickets for Soulat Ali(3-41) the rest shared out. Harlow did not get off to the best reply losing two early wickets. Ben Yeats then scored 25 before he was out with Jake Hitematshah getting 56 and Andre Riddell 45 to move Harlow towards their target off 187. They got their with just over an over to spare and one wicket in what proved a tight game.
Harlow 3rd XI 134 a.o lost to Woodford Wells 261-7
Harlow 3rd XI were well beaten by Woodford Wells at home. Woodford having won the toss elected to bat. They started well and continued scoring at a regular pace of almost 6 and over. Most batsman putting on scores of 30 or more. Pick of the bowlers for Harlow was Dave Whellams who finished with 3-33 and Tyler Dobson 2-35. In reply Harlow lost both openers for ducks. Only Mashood Iqbal and Amir Farooq both with 38 put on any resistance against the Woodford bowling attack as they were all out for just 134.
Ilford CC 3rd XI 190-8 beat Harlow 4th XI 186 a.o
Harlow 4th XI also lost after being put into bat. They got off to a good start with Rob Coldwell scoring 58 and Mustafa Shah 37, but then struggled with the bat. Rizwan Qayyum(20) and Syed Ali(18) only other ones of any note as they were bowled out for 186. Ilford got off to same sort of start as Harlow, and their batting continued like Harlow with not many really scoring, but those that did, did so at a quicker pace. They scored runs required for lose of 8 wickets with over 4 overs to spare. Pick of the Harlow bowlers was Danny Stone with 3-32, also two wickets a piece for Syed Ali(2-27) and Faisal Javed(2-23).
Harlow 5th XI where well beaten by 171 in HECL div 5 match against Ardeley Walkern who scored 223-8 before bowling out Harlow for just 52.
