All five Senior sides Lose

Harlow CC 1st XI 179 a.o lost to Loughton 1st XI 228-9

Harlow lost to Loughton to leave them back into relegation trouble after having Loughton looking like they would be out for a low score. Harlow started superbly with the ball after being put into field by Loughton,in a devastating opener spell, where Nicky Baxter took two wickets in the first over to leave Loughton reeling. It got even better as Baxter took a further three wickets to leave Loughton on 29-5 after just six overs. Alas Baxter five wicket haul was ultimately to be of no avail at the final score. Harlow carried on taking wickets early with Luke Heskett and Mitch Howarde both getting in on the act and with only 14.1 overs bowled Loughton where 70-7 and Harlow where looking to bowl them all out for a low score. Unfortunatley, Vishak Surendra coming in a number 8 had other ideas. He batted through the remaining 35 overs scoring 92 not out to drag Loughton to a total of 228-9 off their allocated 50 overs. Harlow conceded 46 extras including 36 wides, as their bowling and fielding let them down. In what looked a simple catch off batting of Surendra was dropped early which could have changed the whole game. Baxter finished with figures of 5-19.
Batting in reply Harlow got off to a poor start losing both openers Luke Monger and Mitch Howarde for scores of 3 and 2 respectively. Captain Rehman Ahmed came to the crease and batted well for a score of 58, but not many other batsman troubled Loughton with Zabi Hakimi getting 26. Loughton where not much better in terms of extras gifting Harlow 43 with 26 wides.
Harlow face Old Southendians & Southchurch CC next who sit just above the relegation spots 16 points clear of Harlow. This is a must win match. After that they have four more matches to play mainly against teams who are not safe yet including return visit of Harlow Town, in which by then Harlow CC could be down or require a win to stay up.

Billericay CC 2nd XI 256-8 beat Harlow 2nd XI 164 a.o

Harlow 2nd XI fared no better at Billericay. Having won the toss elected to field. Billericay started steadily and most of their batsman scored double figures in their allocated 45 overs, scoring at a steady almost 6 an over. Harlow took wickets with Waheed Azam finishing with 3-23, Jake Hitematshah 2-25. Replying Ben Yeats opening scored 61 but apart from that no other batsman got past 15 and they were all out for 164. 2nd XI sit just 4 points above the relegation zone and have to play both the bottom two in their remaining 5 fixtures games, they cannot lose otherwise they could be also relegated.

Hornchurch CC 3rd XI 175-3 beat Harlow CC 3rd XI 171 a.o

No joy also for the 3rd XI who also lost, having won the toss elected to bat. Owen Warwick was out early for a duck and only Dipendra Basnet coming in at number 3 held the batting together scoring 85, Amir Farooq had the only other score of note with 27 as they were bowled out in 40 overs. Replying Hornchurch who are chasing for the title scored the runs in just 33.4 overs for lose of only three wickets.

Harlow CC 4th XI 265 -9 lost to Hornchurch CC 268-6

Another lose for Harlow but at least this match was tighter with Hornchurch winning with just four balls to spare. Having won the toss Harlow elected to bat. Lost the early wicket of opener Harry Burton but then settled with six players scoring double figures. Best was Max Baulcomb who finished on 66 not out. Others of note were Syed Ali(49), Rizwan Qayyum(38) and Haider Rasool(38). Harlow fielding took a few early wickets but an 85 from Imran Khan who was eventually caught off bowling of Max Baulcomb helped see them home with four balls to spare, Baulcomb finishing with 2-40 best bowler.

Thorley 2nd XI 191-4 beat Harlow 5th XI 187 a.o

No better for 5th XI in HECL, having won the toss elected to bat, the Taskers father and son were only ones to score of note with 29 and 84 as they were all out for 187, Thorley then scored required runs for lose of just 4 wickets.
